Tinta Barroca is a Portuguese red grape variety that is grown primarily in the Douro region. Semi translucent red colour with a light red hue. Nosing offers up red raspberry and red liquorice aromas infused with pepper, subtle earthy graphite and dried herbs. Light, elegant and fresh, the palate is decorated with red to morello cherry, red liquorice and rhubarb fruits which meld into an earthy dried herb and delicate pepper back drop. Lively acidity with slightly chalky tannins and an energetic red fruited finish.
