2023 Mount Langi Ghiran Cliff Edge Shiraz
A refined Grampian’s Shiraz with a plush mouth feel and finessed, pepper laced finish.
Midnight black in colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced aromas of blackberry, liquorice and dark plum are complimented by whiffs of clove, smoked meats and peppered earth. Refined and mid weighted, the palate is generously layered with blackberry, plum and red liquorice fruits. Some blueberry, faint clove, subtle smoked meat and peppered earth elements extend across the back half. Plush mouth feel with seamlessly integrated tannins lending polish across the finessed, pepper laced finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews……
Whole-berry ferments in open top fermenters; seven to 10 days on skins, matured 14 months in French barriques (25% new). Totally accessible young Grampians shiraz with classic fragrant dark berries to the fore, matched evenly, aromatically with lifted minty-aniseed-peppery spice. It is both generous and bright in personality. The palate is delivered finely textured with fruit and spice running long. Drink by 2032.

Jeni Port - James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
This comes from quite old vines on the granite soils of the Grampians. It’s a bright, tremendously lively, fragrant, and thoroughly appealing medium-bodied red. There’s an essence of purity, freshness and vibrancy from the first sniff through to the final combination of medium-weight sweet fruit, spices, licorice, and fine chalky tannin that pushes it through to a sustained finish. Drink 2025-2037.
