2023 Mayfield Vineyard Eighteen Fifteen Chardonnay

Rich and creamy textured finishing long, fresh and refined.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinctive green tint around the outskirts and a watery hue. Elevated pear, nectarine and dried honey aromas are complimented by biscuity nougat, cashew and gun flint notes. Rich and creamy textured, the palate is layered with pear, nectarine, dried honey and cashew flavours. Some citrusy nougat and gun flint elements sit underneath. Finishes long, fresh and refined with a lingering spicy cashew element.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Maturation in French puncheons and hogsheads, of which 35% was new. Regular lees stirring and full mlf. Lemon sherbet, dandelion and chamomile flowers. A hint of cantaloupe and papaya. Buddha's hand citrus and tangerine oil. Quite a lot of savoury notes this vintage, cumin, paperbark and cold tea leaf. Mlf shows in its churned butter creaminess, and oak surrounds its tropical and citrus fruit core. Again, this wine over-delivers in value at its price. Drink by 2028.
