2023 Luis Seabra Vinhos Xisto Ilimitado
Juicy and well fleshed with a stony mineral underbelly.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Gorgeous pear, lime and dried honey aromas drift through the nostrils with plenty of intensity followed by some wet stone and mineral notes. Concentrated fleshy pear, Jonathan apple and lime fruits carry beautiful textural shape across the palate. Delicate dried honey and stony mineral elements lie underneath with brisk acidity lending energy to the long supple finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Douro. Rabigato 70%, Gouveio 20%, Arinto 5%, Codiga 5% from vines 35 to 60 years old. Delicate wine of intricacy and charm. Sea spray, something of a chamomile perfume, lemon and green apple. It’s electric with a salty tang, fine powdery texture, cool acidity, with a subtle quinine bite on a finish of excellent length and precision. So lovely. If you like a saline and fine-boned wine of high interest, then this will hold great appeal. It does for me. Drink 2025-2029+

This has aromas of sliced green apples, orchard fruit, fennel and a touch of flint. Medium- to full-bodied and fresh, with texture and pleasant phenolics. Long and persistent. Incredible value. A blend of multiple vineyards in Douro Superior. 60% rabigato, 15% gouveio, 15% codega and 10% viosinho. Made from 30- to 45-year-old vines. Aged for 12 months in used barrels. Drink or hold.
