2023 Kilikanoon Mort’s Reserve Watervale Riesling

Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Pronounced aromas of lime and lemon infused with wet steel sail out of the glass followed by hints of toast and a chalky like minerality. Crunchy lemon and lime flavours drive the tense palate. Steely mineral infused acidity provides a tight framework. Dry chalk edged finish with a long zesty aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

When you taste a wine like this you ask yourself, why more people don’t drink Riesling. It’s from Watervale in a very good year. It’s taut and racy with a striking crystalline purity throughout its linear frame. Floral with lemon citrus aromas and a slaty crunchy palate feel. This is high class Riesling from an outstanding single vineyard. Drink 2024-2039.
