2023 Kilikanoon Mort’s Block Watervale Riesling

Located right beside the winery, Mort’s Block vineyard provides the core for this wine, with fruit from Kilikanoon’s Morrison vineyard on the opposite hillside providing additional depth and complexity.
A brilliant water like core is surrounded by a subtle greenish tinge to the edges. Jumping from the glass are lime and citrus aromas followed by hints of orange rind, chalky talc and minerals. Concentrated lime and lemon fruits drive the mouth watering palate which has a steely spine of crisp acidity running through it. Granny Smith apple, orange rind, wet steel and flinty mineral elements lurk underneath. Dry and taut it finishes long and zippy.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
