2023 Gundog Estate Smoking Barrel Shiraz

Elegant, nicely fleshed mid weighted Shiraz with ample freshness and a savoury finish.

Fruit was sourced from the Hunter Valley, Hilltops and Canberra districts. Deep dark red black colour with a bright red purple hue. Red to dark cherry and red liquorice aromas mix with hints of earth and peppered herb notes. The elegant, mid weighted palate features nicely fleshed dark cherry and liquorice fruits over earth, subtle dried herb and pepper elements. Fine, slightly grainy tannins with ample freshness shining through the savoury conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

This barrel selection has resulted in a supremely well-balanced red that is supple, effortless and beautifully flowing. There is a melange of dark cherry fruit, aromatic spice and a little sweet vanilla. The palate is soft yet vibrant, with impressive length and satisfying intensity. Drink by 2026.
