2023 Farr Rising Pinot Noir
Delicious red fruits adorn a light expansive palate that has an elegant feel.
Planted in 2001 to a mix of MV6, 114 and 115 clones, the Farr Rising Pinot Noir vineyard consists of grey sandy loam soils mixed with an ironstone pebble, leading to black volcanic soil over limestone at the bottom of the vineyard. While the By Farr wines see 60-100% whole bunches included, Farr Rising Pinot uses 30-40% depending on the vintage conditions. Each vintage these Farr Rising wines edge ever closer to their By Farr siblings.
Dark red core with black toned surrounds and a vibrant red hue. Fragrant violet, red cherry and winter strawberry scents intermingle with hints of rhubarb, subtle brambly cedar, forest floor, dried herb and spice notes. Delicious red cherry, winter strawberry and rhubarb fruits unfold across the light expansive palate with a feeling of elegance. Lending further nuance are dried herb, forest floor, brambly cedar and spice elements. Fresh underlying acidity and finely integrated tannins provide the framework. Concludes long, refined and savoury.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
