2023 Denton Pinot Noir
Rich and powerful yet light on its feet with a bright, expansive feel.
Deep dark red core with a red hue. Aromatically intense, the nose is engulfed with spicy red to dark cherry, strawberry and red liquorice scents that are gently infused with clove. Some forest floor, rhubarb and brambly cedar notes ensue. Rich and powerful yet light on its feet, the palate is layered with energetic red to dark cherry, wild strawberry and anise flavours. Bright, expansive feel with notions of forest floor, clove, brambly cedar and spice lending further interest. Polished tannins finishing long and concentrated.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
Made with 10% whole bunches and matured in French puncheons (33% new). A medium ruby garnet. A little reduction, which quickly blows off to reveal aromas of wild strawberries, damson plums, a little rose petal and subtle hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. There's good intensity on the medium-bodied palate together with fine but firm tannins. This will only get better over the next four to six years, if not longer.
