2023 Chateau de Fuisse-Vincent Macon-Villages
An amply concentrated Chardonnay that’s fresh yet textural.
The Chateau de Fuisse is rich in history with the house dating back to the mid-15th century having been run by the Vincent family since 1882. The estate owns 32 hectares of vines, two-thirds within the Pouilly-Fuisse appellation with other holdings in St-Veran and the Mâcon. Vinified in stainless steel. Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Elevated pear and lime aromas are intertwined with hints of dried honey, wet stone and minerals. Delicious pear, white peach and lime fruits are delivered with ample concentration and carry a river stone like feel across the palate. Notions of wet slate and citrusy mineral like elements lurk underneath. Brisk acidity with a fresh yet textural finish of good length.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
