2023 Alex Moreau Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Premier Cru
Significant changes have taken place at the estate previously known as Bernard Moreau, as brothers Alex and Benoît have divided the domaine and now run separate operations. Starting with the 2021 vintage, the estate has now been renamed Domaine Alex Moreau in recognition of Alex's three decades of dedication to the family venture.

Pungent aromas of reduction and wood toast lead to caressing yet powerful bigger-bodied flavors that possess a succulent mouthfeel that contrasts somewhat with the robust and slightly rustic finale. If your taste runs to big whites, this qualifies. Drink through 2030+.

Aromas of pear, apple blossom, sweet citrus oil and nutmeg introduce the 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered wine built around ripe acids and chalky structuring extract. Once again, it's derived from Les Fairendes.

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeots 1er Cru has a tempting bouquet with hints of almond and toffee apple infusing the vibrant citrus fruit—already very seductive and not dissimilar to the Maltroye. The palate is well balanced with a touch of wild peach on the entry. Clementine and even strawberry emerge toward the refined finish. Superb. Drink 2027-2047.

From the Fairendes vineyard. Pale colour. A strikingly stylish bouquet in a pure and elegant white fruit. This expands beautifully on the palate, with good weight that sits lightly in its steely frame, and a particularly appetising finish. Marvellous poise throughout. Drink from 2029-2035.
