2022 Weathercraft Beechworth Chardonnay

In 2014, Raquel and Hugh Jones moved to country Victoria, establishing an 11.5-acre vineyard on a picturesque 40-acre farm near Beechworth in the Victorian High Country, known as Weathercraft Wine. The property, originally settled in the 1870s as "The Big Valley," is managed with a focus on soil health and building beneficial microbes, which enhances vine vitality and in turn wine quality.
The cooler 2022 vintage produced a captivating Chardonnay, showcasing remarkable mineral tension along with texture and flavor. Expect zesty notes of lemon curd, white peach, fragrant white flowers, and hints of vanilla custard, culminating in an energetic palate.

Whole-bunch pressed, wild yeast, barrel fermented in French oak (25% new). Beechworth chardonnay comes alive, revelling in a purity of fruit managed with care. Regional hallmarks aplenty in a fine-edged, linear structure embracing a core of lemon, lime and white peach. Slowly releases layers of almond meal and grilled nuts underpinned by a grapefruit freshness. Drink 2024-2030.
