2022 Vasse Felix Classic Dry Red Shiraz
Midnight black core with a vibrant dark red black tinged hue. Scents of black cherry and liquorice mingle with scorched earth and peppered meat notes. Meaty and inky like in its feel, rich black cherry and liquorice fruits infused with blackpepper carry nice flesh over a scorched earth and dried meat back drop. Possessing a sturdy tannin structure and fresh acidity it finishes with a robust yet generously fruited and pepper laced aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Punches above its weight given the pricepoint. Expect a whorl of dark fruit all spiced up with a hint of eucalypt, cardamon and tamarind – a bit of an exotic edge this vintage. Fuller-bodied, inky with plush, ripe tannins and refreshing acidity rendering this gluggable right now. Get the wine glasses out. Drink by 2028.
