A plush yet bright Shiraz.

Impenetrable midnight black core with a vibrant dark purple red hue. Dark plum, liquorice and ripe blueberry aromas sail out of the glass followed by spicy vanillin cedar, subtle dark chocolate and leather notes. Lively acidity lends energy to the vibrant dark plum, liquorice and blueberry fruits. Notions of spicy vanillin cedar, earth and pepper lie underneath. Polished tannins with a plush yet bright medium length conclusion.

To me, the Single Wire seems to be a style that spans both contemporary and traditional. The fruit profile is blackberry, blackcurrant, dark plum and black cherry with dark spices in the form of clove, nutmeg and star anise. Hints of licorice, olive tapenade, tobacco, vanillin oak, earth, violets and pan juices. There's bright acidity that pulls the wine along and spiced plum conserve on the palate, tannins superfine and powdery and the finish showing nice sustain. Drink by 2038.
