2022 Sons of Eden Freya Riesling

The 2022 vintage in Eden Valley was set up by a dry cool summer with a long run of warm days and cool nights through to harvest creating the perfect scenario for the production of high quality, pristine Rieslings. Three vineyards made contributions to the 2022 Freya Riesling. The Cranes Range vineyard (18%) and the Roesler vineyard (35%) both situated in the cooler Craneford section of Eden Valley were complimented by a 47% component from the Petney vineyard situated in the higher altitude high-Eden sub-region. The vine age was between 24 to 40 years old.

A flavour packed powerhouse, this is Eden Valley Riesling at its best.

A brilliant water like core is surrounded by highlights of green around the edges. Leaping from the glass are intense lime and citrus scents which intermingle with green apple, hints of orange rind, distinct talc and hints of minerals. A super scrumptious explosion of lime and citrus fruit engulfs every corner of the mouth showing fabulous concentration and power. The fleshy texture buffered by crunchy acidity with orange rind, green apple, chalky talc and mineral elements chiming in on the back half. Concludes with a long aftertaste of superb intensity.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Opens with a perfumed bouquet of white flower and citrus blossom, the palate tracking the bouquet with exemplary analysis and purity; its lime/lemon flavour base line gives it presence now and into the future.
