2022 Snake & Herring Corduroy Chardonnay

Amply concentrated and creamy textured.

Bright straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Nectarine and lemon butter top notes are followed by biscuity oak, subtle bees wax and gun flint scents. On the palate nectarine, pear, grapefruit and bees wax flavours are delivered with plenty of concentration and carry a creamy textural feel. Notions of biscuity oak, nougat and gun flint sit underneath. Fresh acidity with a medium to long finish that’s nicely fleshed.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Only dags and dads wear corduroy surely, but this wine is super classy. Fine, long and pure with gossamer-like acidity threaded through the lemon, lime and white nectarine flavours. It comes lightly spiced and lightly textured with some delicate leesy accents. Savoury, too, and mouth-watering with the right amount of tension to delight and even more pleasure to come in time. Drink by 2032.
