2022 Scotchmans Hill Chardonnay

Wild fermented and matured in new to 4 year old French oak barriques for a period of 12 months with monthly lees stirring taking place to build texture. Brilliant pale straw to straw colour with a watery hue. Elevated ripe peach, nectarine and dried honey aromas are intertwined with hints of biscuity nougat, delicate cashew and spice. Full, ripe and fleshy the palate is decorated with peach and nectarine fruits which meld into a back drop of dried honey, cashew, biscuity nougat characters and spice. Possessing ample richness, intensity and an expansive creamy textural feel it concludes long and enveloping.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

There were crop losses during flowering before ideal vintage conditions through to harvest. Wild fermented, and matured for 12 months in French barriques. The bouquet heralds an equally complex palate charging through to the long finish, cashew and grapefruit in the vanguard. Drink to 2032.
