Growing up in Healesville, a young Rob Hall did some summer work in the vineyards during the early to mid nineties before taking up full time work at Yarra Ridge then Punt Road. From 2002 to 2011 he was the winemaker at Mount Mary, it wasn’t until 2014 that he took the leap and began his own operation. Sourced from the Willowlake vineyard, the Gladysdale Pinot Noir is made from a selection the best barrels and includes a portion of whole bunch.

Elegant yet powerful and highly polished this is a beautiful expression of Yarra Valley Pinot Noir.

Dark red core with black shaded edges and a red to dark red hue. Showing terrific potency are alluring scents of violet, red to dark cherries and strawberries which are further complexed by notions of fresh herbs, anise, forest floor and spicy cedar. Delicious red to dark cherry, strawberry and subtle rhubarb flavours are expansive and effortless in their flow across the supplely textured palate. Unwinding through the back half are infusions of fresh herbs, forest floor, traces of game and spicy cedar. Beautiful underlying freshness and a seamlessly integrated tannin structure lend class and polish. Elegant yet powerful it has a long Burgundian like finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews…..
From the Willowlake vineyard in Gladysdale; 70/30% fully destemmed/whole bunches and matured in seasoned puncheons. Bright ruby red. Lifted and perfumed with aromas of red fruits, tangelo, pink peppercorns and some delicate floral notes. Elegant and supple with super-silky tannins before finishing energetic and long. Drink by 2029.
