2022 Puech-Haut Argali Rose
Puech-Haut’s lighter coloured style of rosé is akin to what the French call "Vin Gris", usually enjoyed with Summer Mediterranean dishes like grilled fish, tian (a cold vegetable flan) and salads, but also as an aperitif with finger foods. Made as a "Rose de presse" (juice straight off the press), the grapes are pressed rather than macerated (as is the case in a "Rose de Saignee").
Chateau Puech Haut employ Grenache and Cinsault for this wine, which is fermented in thermo regulated stainless steel over twenty days to increase flavour intensity.
Intensely flavoured and beautifully textured, this seductive Rose will be moreish summer drinking.
Very pale delicate pink tinged colour. Alluring scents of peach, raspberry and strawberry drift through the nostrils with hints of musk, water melon and wet stone also evident. Showing terrific intensity and drive, delicious raspberry, peach and melon fruits cast a delightful supple feel across the palate. Gentle musk and wet stone characters lie underneath. Brisk acidity with a long, pure and slippery textured finish. Moreish summer drinking.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
