2022 Protero Gumeracha Nebbiolo
Juicy red fruits shaped by fresh, energetic acidity and a muscular tannin framework.
Red to dark red coloured core with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Spicy red cherry and red currant aromas intermingle with earthy graphite and dried herb notes. Juicy red cherry, red currant and red liquorice fruits are underscored by fresh, energetic acidity. Muscular tannin framework with earth, tobacco and spicy dried herb elements lurking across the back half. Chalky feel finishing sculptured and grippy.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews….
It does both speeds of lightweight and serious with fine tannin profile. Lots of perfume, too, and a dark cherry, brambly herbal focus for descriptors. In all that, it nails the brief of proper nebbiolo, with succulence to texture, great volume of perfume, restraint in fruit character and yet finesse. Elegance personified. And beautiful drinking. Drink by 2040.

Perfumed and lifted, with aromas of dark cherries, dried herbs, tobacco leaves and orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving notes of mulberries, Damson plums and leather. Well balanced with an underlying tension. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
