2022 Poonawatta The Eden Riesling

Brilliant water like core with highlights of green around the outskirts. Scents of lemon and lime join up with Granny Smith apple, wet steel and flinty mineral notes. Crunchy lime juice, lemon and Granny Smith apple fruits are underscored by steely acidity which imparts a tense feel. Finishes dry, minerally and very crisp with a focused aftertaste that has lots of zip to it.

Riesling sourced from a 1972-established vineyard in Flaxman Valley, 5km north of Eden Valley township. Pale straw in the glass and smelling crisp and pure with juicy limes, orange blossom, crushed quartz and light marzipan notes. Swift and true, it sets a brisk pace across the palate thanks to sizzling acidity and great clarity, finishing with and a blast of freshly squeezed limes and green apple. Drink by 2028.
