2022 Muto Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

Muto Wine is operated by the Smit family, based in Tallarook, Victoria. They utilise climate-appropriate, alternative varieties to produce wines that are characterised by their integrity, thoughtful production, and pure drinkability.
MV6 Clone Pinot Noir, from 30-year-old dry-grown vines. Fermented whole-bunch, stomped by foot and hand plunged once a day before gentle basket pressing. Matured in a 500L Seasoned Puncheon for 10 months with one rack leaving behind the gross lees.
Semi translucent red to dark red colour with black toned edges and a light red hue. Perfumed violet like scents engage the olfactory senses with sour to red cherry, winter strawberry, subtle clove, fresh herb and delicate spicy cedar notes ensuing. Delicious red cherry and winter strawberry fruits are complimented by hints of sour cherry, infusions of fresh herbs, forest floor and spicy clove elements. Supplely textured it possesses polished tannins and gently tangy acidity which imparts an energetic feel to the long spicy and very tasty finish. Excellent value.
