2022 Munda Walgalu Country Chardonnay
Brilliant very pale straw colour with a faint greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of white peach and nectarine mix with melon, dried honey and citrusy nougat notes. Light and brisk in its feel the palate features white peach and nectarine fruits over citrus, faint dried honey and nougat characters. Crisp acidity with an elegant fruit driven finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12%
Other Reviews….
I like saying Walgalu Country, and I like drinking this wine. The Munda Wines story is one to follow and appreciate as much as its wines. This is superfine with lemon balm and blossom plus a touch of mouth-watering sulphides, not too much, just right. At first, it seems soft and giving, then the acidity kicks in, teasing the palate to a long, resounding finish. A delicious drink. Drink by 2030.

Jane Faulkner – James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
Intense aromas of lemon pith, quince, nectarine, mandarin zest, yellow blossom, pink grapefruit, with a mineral-salty sharp edge cutting through. A vibrant, yet seductive/velvet acidity, with a strong mid palate presence as you are almost sucking into a Meyer lemon or freshly shucked oyster. It’s a Chardonnay with a well-defined “six-pack” and the athletic silhouette of an Olympic 100m runner. A runner that keeps the momentum until the very end of the sprint, with an incredibly savoury/nutty, citrusy, juicy aftertaste. If this is the Walgalu Country (Tumbarumba) speaking, then I’m all ears. Enjoy with grilled abalone, Smoky Bay oysters, or razor fish. Drink: now- 2030.
