2022 Lo Stesso Fiano

This small planting (less than 1 hectare) of Fiano on the Jasper Hill property is located very close to the winery at the southern end of Georgia’s Paddock. The wine is made by Emily and Georgia Roberts and in the early years was produced entirely from purchased fruit. It was partially fermented in used oak and bottled relatively early (under stelvin) to retain freshness.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a greenish glimmer to the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of pear and green apple infused with fresh herbs intermix with some lime and wet slate notes. Fleshy pear and red apple fruits are quite full and textural on the front half of the palate with notions of lime juice and slatey mineral elements lending freshness to the dry finish. A dash of honeysuckle also chimes in. Refreshing acidity with a fine flinty saline infused aftertaste.
