2022 Kaesler The Fave Grenache

Sourced from vines planted in 1930. Semi translucent red purple tinged colour with a light red hue. Dark raspberry, wild cherry and red liquorice aromas sail out of the glass followed by some confectionary and spicy dried herb notes. A rollercoaster of juicy dark raspberry, cherry and liquorice fruits burst across the palate with terrific intensity. Vanillin confectionary and faint peppered earth elements lie underneath. Silky textured with velvet smooth tannins it finishes long, succulent and spicy.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Single-vineyard grenache made in the 'cab-mac' (carbonic maceration) style, matured in old, seasoned barrels. Such a pretty wine this, bright in hue with red cherry, plum and raspberry fruits cut with hints of exotic spice, wildflowers, crushed stone, raspberry coulis, wild strawberries, citrus rind, gingerbread and earth. Detailed with plenty of space, tension and verve, a minerally pulse and a real sense of savoury, purely fruited joy. Just lovely drinking. Drink by 2033.
