Dual Trophy winner at the 2023 Barossa Wine Show.

Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark purple black hue. Intense dark plum, liquorice and blackberry scents flood the nostrils followed by some vanillin cedar, hints of fennel and pepper. Rich and concentrated yet tense, the full bodied palate is awash with succulent dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits. Opulent yet energetic in its feel, notions of vanillin cedar, blueberry and peppered fennel lie underneath. Superb power with fresh youthful acidity lending vibrancy to the long inky yet lavishly fruited finish. Dual trophy winner for ‘Best Shiraz of Show’ and ‘Best 2022 Shiraz of Show’ at the 2023 Barossa Wine Show.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.8%

Other Reviews…..
Hentley Farm does the contemporary take on western Barossa shiraz really well. Here it's a blend of shiraz blocks across its Seppeltsfield estate. Deeply coloured and flush with macerated plum, boysenberry and black cherry fruits, oodles of spice, some purple floral top notes, chocolate bullets and ironstone. The oak slips back into the fruit like Homer Simpson into a hedge, not wanting to intrude on the star of the show. Plush, balanced and just a joy to drink. Great value. Drink by 2033.
