2022 Hentley Farm Cabernet Sauvignon
Fresh, energetic and tense with a mild chalky feel to the tannins.
Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated aromas of blackcurrant and liquorice sail through the nostrils complimented by some spicy vanillin cedar, tobacco, earth and choc mint notes. Generous blackcurrant and liquorice fruits are underscored by fresh energetic acidity with notions of tobacco, spicy vanillin cedar and mint tailing off across the back half. Tense with a mild chalky feel to the tannins which lingers across the mid length conclusion.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews…..
An estate-grown, western Barossa cabernet sauvignon that shows plenty of fruit intensity and depth. Opulent blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry fruits studded with spice and hints of licorice, dried herbs, cedar, earth and purple floral top notes. I like the detail and savoury stance here, with tight, powdery tannin support and a nice sense of clarity and tension as the wine slowly fades. Drink by 2033.
