2022 Gundog Estate Rare Game Shiraz

Deep dark red coloured core with black toned edges and a red to dark red hue. Spicy red plum and liquorice aromas mix with clove, scorched earth, black olive and pepper notes. Fleshy red to dark plum and liquorice fruits carry medium body weight over a scorched earth, vanillin cedar and pepper back drop. Fine grained tannins and bright acidity finishing fresh, juicy and supple.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

The lightweight frame belies the flavour intensity, making it a curious and intriguing wine. Concentrated aromas of flambéd plum pudding and liqueur chocolates are followed by a bright, concentrated palate bursting with strawberry conserve and cherry brandy flavours. There is a fragrant oak overlay, palate texture from alcohol and good flavour depth and length. Drink by 2028.
