2022 Greenock Creek Apricot Block Shiraz
Rich, full and decadent, this is a thick, opulently textured Shiraz.
Super dense pitch black core with an equally deep dark red black hue. Potent ripe blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas engulf the nostrils followed by some toasty vanillin oak, mocha and spice notes. Rich, full and decadent, the palate is drenched in lavish layers of dark plum, blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate fruit. Toasty vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice characters line the back half. Thick and opulently textured it has a sturdy yet velvet like tannin structure. Superb power and depth with a long sumptuous finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 15%
Other Reviews…..
Deep magenta/purple. As per the estate style, off-the-charts fruit purity here. Doris plum, dark cherry and blueberry fruits of considerable concentration and ripeness. Layers of baking spices, dark chocolate, crème de cassis, vanilla bean, cedar, pipe tobacco, dried citrus, quince paste, brandied fruits and nutty oak. Full bodied with fine, cascading tannins and a real sense of latent power. Drink by 2038.
