2022 First Drop Wines Moderno Barbera
Inky black heart with a dark red black tinged hue. Lifted black cherry, liquorice and ripe blueberry scents drift out of the glass followed by some fresh herb, earthy incense and spice notes. Rich, juicy and fresh, the mid weighted palate is layered with a combination of dark to black cherry, liquorice and blueberry fruits. Inky earth, infusions of fresh herbs and spice lie underneath. Youthful acidity with polished yet slightly chewy tannins and a long succulent finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Other Reviews….
From the shock of purple swirling around in the glass, you just know this is going to be a slurpy little number. It's all blueberry and cranberry fruit with citrus blossom top notes, Medina spices, dried citrus rind and dried herbal undertones. Supple and textured with a gypsum-dust tannin cloud, a twang of morello cherry at the backend and some nice sapid acidity getting the saliva glands working overtime. It makes for delicious, sprightly drinking. Drink by 2028.
