2022 Eldorado Road Beechworth Syrah
An elegant, restrained Syrah with a muscular structure and chalky mid length finish.
Matured for 18 months in a combination of new and seasoned French oak. Deep black dark red colour with a dark red hue. White pepper and graphite laced aromas of dark plum and liquorice are emitted trailed by some smoked meat and spicy dried herb notes. The elegant and some what restrained palate features red plum, red liquorice, peppered meat, graphite and spicy dried herb flavours. Muscular tannin structure and bright acidity with a chalky feel to the mid length finish.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 13%
Other Reviews…..
Composed of 97/3% shiraz/viognier. Four different shiraz clones, four separate ferments and a whole lot of winemaking, including fermentation in an imported Italian concentrate 'tulip', go into this little beauty. Deepest purple hues. Makes a youthful, almost playful fist of shiraz with plenty of lively black- and red-fruited energy and pretty aromatics. Violet, sage, peppercorn, earth, allspice and dark cocoa powder pack the palate. It's complex, slurpy delicious and has an astringent, dry finish. Drink by 2031.
