2022 Dexter Pinot Noir
Matured in French oak puncheons of which 25% were new for a period of 9 months. Semi translucent vibrant red to dark red colour with a light red hue. Exceptionally fragrant, the nose offers up a delightful bouquet of violets, red cherries and strawberries followed by hints of anise, fresh herbs, forest floor and delicate spice. Delicious red cherry and strawberry fruits show terrific drive across the silken palate. Infusions of fresh herbs, faint anise, forest floor and light spicy cedar elements also chime in. Very polished with seamlessly integrated tannins finishing with plenty of freshness on the long expansive and supple aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
We seem to have missed the 2020 and 2021 vintages, but there you go. Anyway, a solid performer over many years.
Cherry, strawberry, a little spice, floral and autumnal, with a subtle mint top note. It’s medium-bodied, red fruits and spice, with light cedar oak, fine pumice stone tannin, cool acidity, and a juicy strawberry finish of precision and fine length. A quiet confidence here, never trying too hard, and all about delicacy and restraint. Lovely wine. Drink 2024-2032+

This is the prettiest most approachable pinot I can remember from Tod Dexter. It has a lovely mix of cherries and strawberries all delicately spiced with some blood orange and zest keeping it tangy and juicy. Barely medium bodied with supple tannins and finishing gently yet resolutely. Drink by 2030.
