2022 Dappled Limited Release Tradition Cabernets

Sourced from a vineyard planted in 1981, this is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc that saw 20% whole bunch fermentation and 18 months maturation in old French oak barriques. Dense midnight black heart with a deep youthful looking dark red black tinged hue. Generous ripe red currant and mulberry scents emerge from the glass with some vanillin cedar, earth and minty bay leaf like notes also evident. Rich minty red to black currant fruits carry good flesh across the mid weighted palate with vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco and infusions of bay leaf lying underneath. Well integrated tannin structure with a lick of freshness to the refined finish.
