2022 Commune Of Buttons Basket Town Chardonnay
The Basket Town Chardonnay comes from three locations in the Adelaide Hills: Kas Sluiter Vineyard in Mylor, Dave Fresci's Piccadilly Vineyard in Carey Gully, and Commune of Buttons Vineyard in Basket Range. Due to cooler conditions, the fruit ripened about two weeks later than usual, around late March. Each portion underwent whole bunch pressing and was transferred to a mix of barriques, hogsheads, and puncheons. After maturing for eight months on full lees, the wines were blended and moved to a tank for an additional three months of maturation.
From the Piccadilly Valley and made in Basket Range, where the home vineyard and winery is. Allo.
Lovely chardy. Cashews and ripe apple and light honey and preserved lemon. Yes. Glossy textured, pure feeling, fresh and cool in its feel. Long and slow finish, lightly honeyed and nutty too. Just a delight here. Clean, clear and so pure feeling. Drink 2023 - 2030.
