2022 Chateau Mont-Redon Lirac

A rich, bold and chewy Southern Rhone blend.

A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, two thirds of which was aged in tank and one third in barrel for a period of 18 months.
Very deep dark red black heart with a dark red purple tinged hue. Dark to black raspberry, liquorice and black cherry aromas flood the nostrils with notions of scorched earth, herbs du Provence and pepper also evident. Rich, bold and chewy, a tidal wave of black cherry, liquorice and black raspberry fruits engulfs the full bodied palate. Robust tannins lend a muscular feel with notions of scorched earth and peppered meats the undercard. Concentrated and power packed it has a long opulently fruited yet sturdy finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

The fine tannins give the full-bodied palate an elegance rare in this appellation, which has a reputation for rusticity. Polished finish. 70% grenache, 20% syrah and 10% other varieties. 70% was matured in tanks and 30% in Burgundy barrels. Drink or hold.
