2022 Chateau de Pressac
Other Reviews....
Intensely ripe and floral notes on the nose. This has such a lovely texture and weight, silky smooth with high acidity and a bouncy frame. Clean and crystalline with juicy cherries and strawberries with touches of slate and wet stone. Incredibly refined and focused but with an easy enjoyment. Not too tense, this has plenty of structure and power but delivers it well. Drink it slightly cool to emphasise the crispness. Lovely. 2% Carmenere, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec complete the blend. Drink 2027-2040.

The 2022 de Pressac is a wild, exotic wine, as it so often is. Soaring aromatics make a strong first impression. Rich, deep and vibrant, the 2022 has a lot to offer, but it also needs time to come together. Blood orange, sage, mint, mocha, espresso and dried herbs blossom nicely with time in the glass. This is notably savory in character. Drink 2027-2047.

Good depth of fresh black cherries, cocoa powder and dried herbs. This is juicy and focused, with a full body and a long, firm finish. Structured tannins with a dusty texture and plump dark fruit flavors. 70% merlot, 18% cabernet franc, 7% cabernet sauvignon , 2% carmenere, 2% petit verdot and 1% malbec. Drink from 2028.

Black cherries, red plums, spicy oak, and savory herb notes all emerge from the 2022 Château De Pressac, another ripe, medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated 2022 in the vintage that brings ample mid-palate depth, building yet ripe tannins, and outstanding length. Despite all its richness and depth, it holds onto a wonderful sense of freshness and minerality, and I suspect this will evolve gracefully for 20+ years in cold cellars. It needs an hour in a decanter if drinking anytime soon. Drink 2025-2045.
