2022 Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis Old Vine Grenache

Rich, concentrated and powerful yet tense and chiselled in it’s feel.

Sourced from 90 year old bush vines with 20% whole bunch inclusion. Deep dark red heart with black tinged edges and a vibrant red purple tinged hue. Red to dark raspberry, red liquorice and cherry aromas infused with pepper soar out of the glass. Some crushed rock and vanillin spice notes are also evident. Rich and concentrated yet chiselled in its feel, delicious red to dark raspberry, ripe red cherry and liquorice fruits are sculptured by muscular tannins and energetic acidity. Tense and powerful, chalk, crushed rock, vanillin spice and pepper elements extend across the back half. Finishes long, fresh and juicy yet tightly wound and focused. Dual Trophy winner for best Grenache in Show at the 2024 National Wine Show and Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
