Pitch black heart with a deep dark red hue. Ripe morello and black cherry aromas intermix with aniseed, scorched earth, herbs du Provence and hints of leather. Mid weighted, very dry and elegant across the palate, morello and black cherry fruits meld into a smoked meat, peppered herb, earthy barnyard and leather back drop. Vibrant acidity and fine grained tannins with earthy barnyard and leather characters persisting through the finish.

This has an expressive nose of violets, blackberries and crushed rocks. The palate is vibrant, with pure, delineated fruit. Shows concentration, but is racy and balanced. Amazing price for the quality. Made from 40- to 60-year-old vineyards with the grapes completely destemmed. Part of it undergoes carbonic maceration. Drink now.
