2022 Cantina Santadi Villa Solais Vermentino di Sardegna

Cantina Santadi, from Sardinia’s southwestern coastal region known as Sulcis, was founded in 1960 as a cooperative of local growers. Under the guidance of Antonello Pilloni, Santadi has become one of Sardinia’s finest wineries today made up of more than 200 growers farming 600 hectares.
This Vermentino is made with 10% Nuragus, another local variety, and is matured for a few months on lees in stainless steel to provide the wine with an extra dimension of texture and flavour.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a greenish tinge to the edges and a watery hue. Uplifted green apple, pear and lime scents infused with fresh Mediterranean herbs and slatey mineral notes drift from the glass. Mouth watering lime, pear and green apple fruits are delivered with terrific intensity over a bed rock of mediterranean herbs, wet slate and minerals. Crisp electric like acidity with the saline finish dry, long and zingy in its feel.
