2022 Antonelli Montefalco Grechetto

Antonelli San Marco is a 190-hectare estate acquired by the Antonelli family in 1881, making it one of the historic wineries in the Montefalco DOCG region. The estate cultivates indigenous varieties like Trebbiano Spoletin, Grechetto, Sangiovese, and places a significant emphasis on Sagrantino.
Grechetto is the primary white varietal in Umbria, and the production of Colli Martani DOC mandates 100% Grechetto. Hand-picked grapes are pressed, fermented, and matured on lees in stainless steel tanks before bottling.

The 2022 Montefalco Grechetto opens in the glass with mint leaves, dusty florals and hints of crushed green apple forming a delicate bouquet. It's round and pleasantly sweet with crisp white pit fruit and spices as saline-tinged minerals add a salty edge toward the close. It finishes crisply refreshing and perfumed, leaving slowly tapering hints of sour melon and savory spice. Vividly fruity but then savory and spicy through the close, it's a total pleasure to taste. Drink 2023 - 2026.
