Matured in 1-4 year old French oak barriques and puncheons for 18 months. Impenetrable inky black in colour with an equally dark purple black hue. Aromas of ripe morello cherries, liquorice and dark chocolate are drawn through the nostrils followed by vanillin cedar, faint earth and spice notes. Rich luscious morello cherry, liquorice and black cherry fruits are framed by bright acidity and a firm yet integrated tannin structure which imparts a chewy feel onto the long deeply saturated finish.
