Significant changes have taken place at the estate previously known as Bernard Moreau, as brothers Alex and Benoît have divided the domaine and now run separate operations. Starting with the 2021 vintage, the estate has now been renamed Domaine Alex Moreau in recognition of Alex's three decades of dedication to the family venture.

Other Reviews...
An exuberantly floral nose also displays notes of petrol, rosemary oil and a variety of white orchard fruit scents. The rich, concentrated, powerful and sappy larger-bodied flavors coat the palate with dry extract while delivering excellent length on the muscular and mildly rustic finale. This isn't refined but it's very Morgeot in style and character. Well-worth checking out if you enjoy generous and full-bodied white burgs. Drink through 2030+.

Allen Meadows - Burghound

Derived from Les Fairendes, which tends to produce rather elegant wines, the 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot exhibits aromas of minty pear, green apple, nutmeg and toasted bread, followed by a medium to full-bodied, bright and pure palate that's chalky and suave.

William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeots 1er Cru is composed, almost understated on the nose, with oyster shells and crustacea infusing the yellow fruit. Excellent delineation. The fresh, vibrant palate is more lime-infused than Moreau’s other cuvées and, as such, may not have quite the same level of complexity or terroir expression. Thoroughly enjoyable - perhaps the punters' choice from the Domaine. Drink 2025-2038.

Neal Martin - Vinous

Only from old vines in Fairendes. Clear pale lemon. The nose is entirely white fruit and indicates the power to come on the palate. There is a fine backbone to this as well as the habitual flesh of Morgeot, and the oak component is absolutely in harmony. This will make a gorgeous bottle with appropriate (10 year) age, even if accessible before. There is a light citrus wash to keep it fresh and a particularly long finish. Drink from 2030-2038.
