The de Pury family have been farming in the Yarra Valley since 1863. Once a famed vineyard in the 19th century, the demise of fine table wines saw production cease in 1921. Guill & Katherine de Pury decided to replant the vineyard in 1969, gradually starting to rebuild the reputation of this historic estate. Today it is helmed by Sandra de Pury, becoming the fourth-generation winemaker at Yeringberg, with her brother David who manages the vineyard. Produced from some of the oldest vines in the Yarra Valley, the low-yielding vines result in wines of great age-ability and finesse.

Other Reviews….
62/38% marsanne/roussanne from vines planted between 1973 and ’85. The varieties were picked and made separately with blending just before bottling. Both were fermented in tank before being 10 months in seasoned oak. A bright green gold. Year in and year out, this wine delivers the goods. Pure fruited with stone and orchard fruits, orange blossom, fresh ginger and a touch of spice. It's mouth-filling and textured yet super fresh. Finishes long and with a little apricot pith and fresh lime. Excellent.

A mid-weighted iteration of a classic Rhone blend, exuding tatami straw, lanolin, beeswax and glazed quince across a splay of beautifully tuned phenolics, the essence of the structural latticework as much as the punchy freshness. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

62% Marsanne and 38% Roussanne. Vines planted 1973-85. The 2 varieties were picked & made separately, blended just before bottling.
Apple, lime, apricot, ginger and honey, chamomile tea and cinnamon. It’s nutty and savoury, white fleshed fruit with a juicy peach and apricot richness, dusty and spicy, a fine chalkiness to it, a real white Rhône mouth-perfume about it, honey and almond, with a long rich and grainy finish. Terrific wine.
