2021 Woodlands Wilyabrup Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

A generously fruited blend with a sturdy structure behind it.

Midnight black core with a dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry and black olive are framed by cigar box, earth and subtle bay leaf notes. Rich blackcurrant and mulberry fruits have an earthy underpinning of cedary tobacco, dried herb and spice characters. Sturdy, slightly grainy tannin structure with a medium to long, generously fruited finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

All the regional aromas and flavours at play, from violets, wakame, cassis and chocolate to mulberries, with a distinct ironstone character too. The fuller-bodied palate comes strewn with tannins, the texture of cocoa powder, and somewhat drying on the finish. Just needs a bit more time in bottle. Drink by 2034.
