2021 Nicks Secret WLS Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

From a lesser known yet nonetheless 5 star Halliday rated winery comes this Nicks Secret Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon that is stamped with all the hallmark traits of this regions signature varietal. Selling for $45 ex cellar door, it was matured in French oak with winemaking under the skillful direction of Larry Cherubino.

Rich and fleshy textured yet carrying a sturdy feel, this is a classically styled Margaret River Cabernet that delivers great bang for your buck.

Midnight black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. The nose offers up pronounced aromatics of blackcurrant, black olive and cigar box which intermingle with mulberry, earth and spicy dried herb notes. Rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits infused with cigar box and black olive characters are delivered with excellent intensity. Mulberry, vanillin earth and spicy dried herb elements extend across the back half. Fleshy textured, it has grainy tannins which impart a sturdy feel into the long savoury conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

An elegant style that doesn’t forfeit flavour or depth to get there. Expect cassis, mulberries, lots of herbs, black olive and cedary oak infusing the more mid-weighted palate. Fine tannins match the acidity to lengthen the finish. Drink by 2037.
