Cabernet (60%) and Malbec from 1971 Western, 1898 and 1975 Central, and 1920 Eastern plantings. As I always say, it’s the Cab Mal that’s the ‘W’ wine for Wendouree.
Blackcurrant, plum, roses, pencil oak, just a little mint. It’s medium-bodied, such a lovely flow of flavour through the palate, just ripe fruit, graphite tannin, mouth-perfume and pencils, quite tight with a cool and pure ‘mineral’ feel, but still generous in that classic Wendouree Cab/Mal way, with a superb finish of impeccable length. So fine. Magnificent. Drink 2026 - 2044+.
