2021 Warrabilla Parola’s Limited Release Durif

Glass staining, extraordinarily dense inky black core with an equally deep black dark red hue. Potent inky morello cherry, liquorice and black cherry scents intermingle with vanillin cedar, scorched earth, hints of graphite and pepper. Not quite as exuberant, showing more vibrancy, restraint and possessing greater muscularity than past vintages, rich black and morelllo cherry, liquorice and dark plum fruits are tense and structured in their feel. Heavy and dense with bright acidity and robust tannins forming a statuesque like framework. Well integrated vanillin oak, subtle earthy graphite and smoked meats creep through on the back half. Peppery finish with a long bold, youthfully compact and muscular aftertaste. A tightly wound rendition of Parola’s that will take some time to unwind.
