2021 Vanguardist Wines Blewitt Springs Grenache

Bright dark red core with black tinged edges and a vibrant purple red hue. Alluring red raspberry, liquorice and red cherry aromas are delivered with a perfumed like intensity followed by vanillin confectionary, earth and peppered herb notes. Juicy red raspberry, liquorice and dark cherry fruits show terrific concentration and are framed by a robust tannin structure. Notions of vanillin confectionary, earth, infusions of fresh herbs and pepper lie underneath. Dry, slightly grippy finish with lively acidity concluding long and muscular in its shape.

Raspberry steeped in liqueur, plenty of perfume, lots of spice, almond paste. Medium-bodied, raspberry and subtle earthiness, firm pumice stone tannin, lots of crunch, hazelnut and crisp red berries, very bright and long. Some tea and tobacco savoury stuff. Such an excellent wine. Structural but ripe. The quality of tannin is outstanding. Serve it in a big Burgundy glass! Drink 2024-2034.
