2021 Tscharke A Thing of Beauty Grenache

Certified organic. Semi translucent ruby red colour with a light red hue. Fragrant red raspberry, red liquorice and red cherry scents are trailed by hints of vanillin confectionary and pepper. Delicious raspberry, subtle red liquorice and ripe cherry fruits carry a juicy feel across the light to mid weight palate. Infusions of fresh herbs, earth and pepper are also evident. Energetic acidity and polished tannins finishing with a long, fresh and succulent red fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Grenache sourced from Marananga in the west of the Barossa. A portion of the fruit is destemmed and fermented cool for aromatics, the remainder destemmed and crushed on top of its stalks in concrete fermenters, matured in terracotta amphorae for eight months. Airy, diaphanous and beautifully perfumed with spicy red plum, redcurrant and raspberry notes that mesh with Asian spice, blossom, red licorice and gingerbread. Just lovely drinking with plenty of detail and clarity. Don't be afraid to pop this one in the fridge to take the edge off. Drink by 2026.
