The Woodcutter’s Shiraz is sourced from Torbreck’s younger vineyards located in the prime Barossa sub regions of Marananga, Greenock, Seppeltsfield, Gomersal, Moppa, Lyndoch and Ebenezer.
Fruit is hand harvested and fermented in a mixture of cement, wooden and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days. It is then basket pressed to well-seasoned hogsheads and French oak foudres where it’s matured for 12 months. From the exceptional 2021 vintage, this rich, plump, voluminous yet fresh rendition is one out of the box and not to be missed.

Cascading waves of succulent blue to black fruits saturate the palate with terrific richness and intensity.

Magnificent inky black dark purple colour with a very deep dark purple hue. The nose throws up an alluring mix of dark plum, blackberry, liquorice and ripe blueberry fruits with hints of vanillin oak, light earth and spicy fennel ensuing. Showing terrific density, volume and concentration, the rich, opulent palate is engulfed with dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits. Blueberry, vanillin cedar, fennel and spicy pepper elements lie underneath. Showing superb depth and power for the price it has velvety tannins and finishes with a youthful freshness. Concludes long, inky and wonderfully fruited. Will evolve beautifully with a few more years in the bottle.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews....
Lovely ripened blackberries and raspberries. Al dente. Full-bodied yet so refined and focused with crisp acidity and ultra-fine, creamy tannins. Succulent and crunchy but focused and structured. Bright and purposeful. Drink after 2024 but already hard to hold back. Screw cap.
